This restaurant strikes me as underrated for Japan, with a (relatively) low rating on Tabelog even though the meal itself was much better than many 4.0+ restaurants I've been to. The restaurant itself is very tourist friendly with a waitress who can speak fluent English. The chef is very nice and funny too. The quality of the sushi itself was simply outstanding--one of the best meals of my life.

Our favorite omakase experience throughout our whole trip. A beautiful “perfect” restaurant, with an amazing staff. They were very welcoming and attentive to every detail. My wife picked a gem for us to have dinner at. We were in awe of the whole experience. The chef also added to the experience with his personality and him being himself. If you want to leave the chaos of the city and have a true Japanese omakase experience, we would recommend Sushi Marufuku. Thank you for allowing us into your restaurant. Till next time.

Comfortable, clean, chic, professional. My husband and I were the only English-speaking customers out of the small group, but the staff made sure to provide us with an English menu-of-the-night as well as detail each plate to us as it was served. The tamago at the end was nice and was served to us two to celebrate our honeymoon. The flavor combinations and the aged fish selections were so different from what can be found at “premium” sushi places in the US. This meal was a night to remember.

Sushi Marafuku has clear mastery of the fish aging. Every single seafood ingredients on the nigiri pieces are aged to varying degrees. While not overwhelming it brings out the taste more distinctly. However, it's worth noting that the side dishes accompanying the nigiri tend toward very neutral to bland...a stark contrast to the rich nuanced flavors of the nigiri. Sushi Marafuku location, while not hard to find, can take a while due to it being in a suburb which means it can take an hour to get there depending on which part of Tokyo you're coming from. The upside of the location is that the price is very very reasonable at just 24,000 yen for 20 course sushi omakase! Highly recommended but the booking will be a challenge especially since the restaurant recently received Michelin star.

Love the ambience! Groups of good friend dining and having good time together. Food was superb with the 20 courses. Everything is so tasty!

Reserved two months ahead - Had an amazing experience having aged sushi for the first time. Sushi master was hilarious and had a very warm personality, which made the experience better. Will be back for more!

An incredibly delicate and refined omakase experience. Attention to detail at this restaurant is noticed from cutlery to the dishes. Most of the fish is dry aged providing a delicate texture. This is paired beautifully with gentle flavours that don’t overpower the seafood. It was a welcoming experience with lovely staff and other patrons. Thank you for the delicious meal.

As a foreigner, I got to experience this meal with a fully Japanese group of customers. On one hand, this felt like watching through a window into Japanese high brow life, seeing really cool interactions and how funny the chef was. I did not feel like not understanding Japanese took away from this dinner though, as the chef made hilarious auditory and visual cues on how to enjoy their pieces of work. I am very thankful for having gone through this experience. The food itself is also an incredibly unique experience that would be hard to recreate elsewhere. Sushi itself is a tough skill to properly learn, but they applied dry aging to the meats and are pairing the fish with perfectly cooked ingredients. There is so much to say about every plate, but I will simplify this to say everything was delicious and it has given me a fantastic memory. I want to thank the staff again for their hospitality, because it is a pleasure to witness the care and precision everyone had with their work.
